A young mum who ordered a cake for her toddler son’s birthday party couldn’t believe her eyes when she opened the box to find the “ugliest thing” she’s ever seen.

The 25-year-old, from the US, paid a professional baker to make a Minion cake for her two-year-old boy – but what she got looked nothing like what she ordered.

“I just picked up my son’s Minions cake… and this is the ugliest f***ing thing I’ve ever seen,” she said in a now-viral video.

“This is so not what I asked for.”

The mum had given the baker an “inspo pic” of a yellow and blue Minion with round goggles.

“The baker even asked me, ‘Do you want it to be ombré to go from blue into yellow?’ And I’m like, ‘No, straight blue, straight yellow’,” she said.

“I wanted big (icing) swirls. I said, ‘It doesn’t have to be that fancy decorating icing to make arms, I don’t want that.

“I also said I want just the outline of the goggles.”

The mum said she wanted a yellow top to show the Minion’s face and blue around the sides to resemble the iconic overalls.

However, she was left lost for words when she noticed the disastrous “cake fail”.

The cake in question consisted of a yellow to blue ombré with two giant eyeballs stuck to the edge, along with a gold ribbon across that read: “Happy birthday”.

“This is what I got. What the f*** is this? What the f*** is this? Where are my swirls? Why is it ombre? Why is it green?” the mum said in horror.

“What happened to the goggle circles? Oh, my f***ing god. What the actual f*** is that?

“This is the ugliest f***ing thing ever.”

Thankfully, the mum said she was able to transform the ‘ugly’ cake into a Minion just in time for the party. Credit: @babygirls0s0

Her son’s birthday party was held the next day so she decided to take it home – despite the fail.

“It is totally fixable, and I’m not that picky, so I just took it,” she said.

Thankfully, the mum said she was able to transform the “ugly” cake into a Minion just in time for the party.

“I knew it was fixable,” she said in a follow-up video.

“I’m telling you, it actually was really easy. It took two seconds to fix. Me, my fiancé and my mother-in-law, we stared at it for a second and we all kind of accumulated.

“We had bought the f***ing cake topper, had a bunch of little Minion goggle eyes… And the goggle was laid over perfectly, so it covered up the stupid ribbon.

“We also decided to cover up the ugly green ombré with the ribbon, and yes that was it. Look how cute it turned out.”

The mum added: “Lesson learned”.

Her video has been viewed more than 20.4 million times – with many horrified over her order.

“CAKE GATE 2023! I’m here for it,” one said.

Another shared: “Absolutely nothing could’ve prepared me for that.”

While others shared their own horror stories after purchasing cake from the same baker.

“I got a cake from the same baker for my baby’s first birthday… I literally cried it looked so horrible. My sister-in-law took me to another place and we got a new cake,” one shared.

Another shared: “She did my wedding cake because I had a super simple design. They messed up SO BAD. It was delivered on wedding day and I had to redo it myself.”
