South Australia and New South Wales have won multiple major titles at a prestigious food producers award.
The delicious. Harvey Norman Producers Award recognises people and businesses that supply Australia’s hospitality venues and leading chefs.
A total of 14 trophies were awarded by a judging panel that included some of the country’s most renowned chefs, such as Matt Stone, Matt Moran, Jo Barrett and Danielle Alvarez.

Delicious. editorial director Kerrie McCallum said the awards recognise, “producers with a focus on environmental sustainability, provenance, species diversity, preservation and collaboration with their local community”.
Among the winners was Australian culinary legend Maggie Beer, who was recognised for her outstanding contribution to Australian food.

Beer was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to tourism and hospitality on Australia Day in 2012
She runs a farm shop and eatery in Nuriootpa, about one hour’s drive from Adelaide.
Five awards went to NSW people and businesses including “in the bottle” awards to Black Snake Distillery and ALTF Spirits.
Burraduc Buffalo Dairy in Mayers Flat won producer of the year, while Sharon Winsor from restaurant and wholesaler Indigiearth won outstanding native producer.
South Australia took out three awards, with Section28 Artisan Cheese in Woodside winning the “from the dairy” category.
SA meat producer Paroo Premium Kangaroo won for outstanding sustainability.
Outstanding viticulturist went to Irina Santiago-Brown from Inkwell Wines in Tatachilla.
McCallum said the judges were particularly impressed by Burraduc Buffalo Dairy.
“(They were) deeply impressed by both the consistency and quality of its produce,” she said.
“Critically, this was matched by the producer’s commitment to sustainability, livestock management and innovation, making them a unanimous choice for Producer of the Year.”
