The dessert was available in three different sizes – large, half and quarter.
She opted for “half” – assuming the cake to be a smaller version of the large size.
However, her jaw dropped when the employee opened the box to show her the order.

“Oh my god, so I went to pick up the cake. I didn’t realise half of a f***ing cake literally means they cut it in half,” Demi said in disbelief.
“I just thought it’d mean that the size would be half the size.
“Look at what I’ve come out with. What the f***. I don’t even know what to say.”
‘Such an idiot’
Demi filmed herself sitting in her car while opening the box to show the moon-shaped cake had been halved with a knife.
“I feel like such an idiot,” she said, laughing.
“How f***ing ugly is that?”

Demi said she was lost for words when she saw her cake in store for the first time
“When she opened the box to ask if it was my order, you should have seen my face,” she recalled.
“I think the girl could tell by the look on my face but I felt bad for her, probably gets it all the time.”
‘Missed the memo’
The franchise is widely known for offering its standard range of cakes in halves, quarters and slices.
“I missed the memo,” Demi said.
“The slices I get, but half a cake? I know for next time.
“Can you tell it’s my first time ordering from The Cheesecake Shop?”
Despite her unfortunate mistake, Demi later confirmed the cheesecake was “still delicious”.
“You live and you learn,” she said.
Her video has been viewed more than 100,000 times – with many confessing they made the same blunder.

“I don’t know why The Cheesecake Shop thinks that people want half of a cake. Half the size? Yes! I had the same issue a few years ago,” one shared.
Another revealed: “I did the same I thought I’d get a small cheesecake.”
One said: “Oh my god, I didn’t even know this was a thing. They even put it on a half cake board.”
Another suggested: “Oh my god this happened to me! I legit thought it was just a smaller version of the cake.”
One added: “I actually laughed out loud. As soon as you said half of a cake I knew it was Cheesecake Shop.”
Another joked: “I’m sorry but who only wants half a cheesecake. My mind is absolutely blown. Unacceptable behaviour.”
While one confessed: “Why is this something that would happen to me?”
After reading the comments, Demi said, laughing: “Thankfully we’re not the only ones.”
The Cheesecake Shop responds
In a statement to 7Life, a spokeswoman for The Cheesecake Shop said: “We are disappointed to hear that, on this occasion, this customer’s cake didn’t meet their expectations for their anniversary celebrations and will help make it up to them.
“Here at The Cheesecake Shop we don’t do things half-hearted but believe it or not our customers do enjoy ordering a wide range of different cakes and size options from our huge selection available.
“This includes half cakes, quarter cakes and cakes by the slice! Half cakes are definitely a thing and quite popular with some of our customers. Most of our standard range of cakes are available in halves in-store and online too.”
